When designing the hat, we were conscious that not only the head needs protection, but also the forehead and neck, which is why the brim of the Manymonths Summer Hat is much wider than most summer hats.

• Double sizes for even longer use: Charmer/Explorer (3-18 months), Adventurer/Conqueror (1-4.5 years) and Innovator and + (5-7.5 years and over). The smallest size is suitable for babies as young as a few weeks, while the largest is suitable for most mothers.

We advise you to take the larger size if your child is already approaching the limit of the smaller size.
If your child finds the hat tight, remove the adjustable elastic. With use, the cap will naturally become supple and relax a little.

The ManyMonths Summer Hat is light and soft and can even be worn for a midday nap. When carrying your baby, we recommend that you use an ultra-lightweight carrying blanket in addition to the hat, so that your baby is perfectly protected from the sun (and insects).

Why choose a sun protection hat for your child?
It's not uncommon for children to receive around 50% of the recommended lifetime dose of UV rays during their childhood. Children's sensitive skin burns more quickly than adult skin. Depending on the type of skin, 5-40 minutes of exposure to the sun is enough to cause sunburn. The skin retains traces of childhood sunburn throughout life and can even develop skin cancer later in life. Children can't protect themselves, it's up to adults to look after them.

Why did we choose a hemp fabric for the sun cap?
Hemp fibre is airy, porous and therefore highly breathable, giving a wonderfully cool feeling in summer. It is considered to be ten times stronger than cotton fibre, so is more durable in use. Hemp garments become perfectly soft with use, so they often quickly become favourites that you don't want to take off.

Hemp is grown without the use of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or even fertilisers, so its production is very environmentally friendly, and clothes made from hemp, linen and cotton are naturally healthy.
