There are so many uses and recipes for 8% alcohol vinegar that we'll just mention the main ones. You will easily find many other applications on the Web.

Kitchen

Dirty sponges: soak in 1 litre of water and 1/4 cup of vinegar.
In the dishwasher, replace your anti-limescale product: ½ glass of white vinegar.
For fridge maintenance: clean, deodorise and remove bacteria with a vinegar-soaked microfibre cloth.
Cast-iron saucepans: fill with water and 1/4 cup vinegar; boil for half an hour and wipe dry. Removes rust stains. Restore the shine to Pyrex dishes and glasses: soak them in vinegar (diluted or undiluted) for a few hours (depending on how calcified they are).

Household maintenance

Copper: polish with a mixture of equal parts lemon juice and vinegar.
Pewter: apply paste, leave to dry and polish. Leave to dry and polish.
Mould: mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1 litre of water and wash around windows.
Shower head: soak in a small bowl of vinegar to remove deposits that clog the pipes.
Sink pipes: to keep them clean, pour in 1/2 cup of baking soda, then 1/2 cup of vinegar. Wait 15 minutes and run hot water.
Sparkling windows: 3/4 litre of water and 1/4 litre of vinegar in a spray bottle.
Limescale deposits: scrub the area around the bathtub with pure vinegar.
Blinds and plastic curtains: fill the bathtub a third full and add liquid soap and 1/2 litre of vinegar. Soak the items for 30 minutes and rinse well.
Clean your dustbin: prepare a solution of half a litre of water and half a litre of vinegar and boil.

Floor tiles: two glasses of vinegar in a bucket of hot water.
Floors: wash with 4 litres of water, 1/4 cup of liquid soap and 1/2 cup of vinegar.
Toilet cleaner : spray on the walls, leave for 15 to 20 minutes and brush.

Laundry

- Laundry: a glass of vinegar in the fabric softener (the smell disappears with drying) removes the last residues of limescale, revives colours, prevents black clothes from turning grey, softens clothes...
- Washing machine: fill the basin with warm water and ½ litre of vinegar, then programme the regular cycle. Cleans pipes and removes soap scum and limescale.

DIYand garden

Cleans garden pots and removes limescale.
Keeps picked flowers fresh: by adding 2 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp sugar for every 250 ml of water, flowers stay fresh longer. Insects hate the taste and smell of vinegar: many recipes are available on the web.
Rust: add 1/4 cup of vinegar to 1 litre of water to clean rust from metal.

Body hygiene and beauty care

Rinsing with white vinegar makes hair shinier. It's also an excellent dandruff remover. It's also effective for drying out feet and helping to get rid of athlete's foot in footbaths. Cider vinegar can be used in a wide range of family hygiene recipes.
